Description
Hailing from Alabama, this is a new one for us…and so far we’re very impressed. Unlike many other honeysuckles, the almost blue leaves of Alabama Crimson Honeysuckle are mildew-free when grown in full sun. Clusters of trumpet-shape bright crimson red flowers are born heavy in spring and then flush again in summer and sporadically through the season. The flowers were perfectly designed by Mother Nature for hummingbirds to feed on, and they find them irresistible. Loads of magnificent bright red berries finish off the color show in fall. Growing 10 feet or more in height-length this is a fine selection for fences, rails, arbors, pergolas, rails and posts. The vine does not cling to walls and other surfaces, however, will grow up and on just about anything that provides its vines something to twine around. Another great flowering vine the hummingbirds will thank you for planting!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 10 feet or more tall or long and 3 to 6 feet wide, Alabama Crimson is an absolute must for hummingbird gardens! It is ideal for use to climb along the top of fences, on a trellis, on a pole, post or mailbox, over an arch, arbor or pergola, or any other structure that will provide something for the vines to twine around.
Suggested Spacing:Â 3 to 6 feet apart to cover fences or other structures
Growing Preferences
Alabama Crimson Honeysuckle is easily grown in average, moist but well-drained soils and full sun to light shade. The vine produces more flowers and is more vigorous in full sun. We recommend at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. It is quite drought tolerant when established and hardy in USDA Zones 4a-9b  Find Your Zone

The plant that I received was packed with extreme care and received no damage at all. It was exceptionally healthy with several flower clusters. It is now weeks later and despite a few yellow leaves which is to be expected with transplantation, this plant still remains healthy and is thriving with new growth. If you have reservations about ordering plants online, you need not if you choose this nursery. I HIGHLY recommend these guys. I have used several in the past until now. I use them exclusively and still have yet to receive anything but healthy, beautiful plants. Great customer service. Great place.—————————————-Wow! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them all for years to come! Thanks so much for the kind words and awesome review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
Wilson Bros Gardens…What a company! Not only did every item I ordered ship quickly, but they were so well-packed and carefully boxed that not one leaf or flower was disturbed!!! Much of the credit goes to the company that actually carried the items, FedEx, but without the proper and perfect packing, it would have been horrible. Thank you, Wilson Bros, for helping me start what will become a BEAUTIFUL garden!!!—————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come!
