Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, the Electra Blue Deodar Cedar is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full to mostly sun. Established trees are have moderate drought tolerance. As with so many other coniferous evergreens, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Good drainage is essential. Some shade is tolerated however trees won’t be as full. Exceptionally low maintenance requiring no pruning except to remove a stray or damaged branch. That said, an annual pruning can be done to control size.
